📣 Lochlan’s Legacy Stands with Lyla’s Family – We Urge Action for Lyla’s Law 💙

We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of little Lyla Story, a bright and beautiful 2-year-old who passed away on May 3rd, 2025 — just 16 hours after being seen by a GP who missed the signs of undiagnosed Type 1 Diabetes.

Her symptoms were clear: excessive thirst, vomiting, lethargy, and weight loss. A simple urine or blood test could have saved her life. But that test wasn’t done — and her family was left shattered.

Lyla’s story is not an isolated one. Dozens of children are missed and misdiagnosed every year — and too many pay with their lives. That’s why Lochlan’s Legacy is fully backing Lyla’s Law, a vital campaign calling for mandatory routine testing for Type 1 Diabetes in children at the point of care.

This law would:

✅ Require routine urine/blood testing during GP consultations where symptoms are present

✅ Improve adherence to NICE guidelines

✅ Protect young, non-verbal children who can’t advocate for themselves

✅ Educate healthcare professionals and families about the signs of Type 1 Diabetes

Lyla’s life mattered. Her legacy must lead to change.

👉 Please, join us in supporting this campaign and sign the petition:

Together, we can help make sure no other family has to suffer this kind of preventable loss. Let’s make Lyla’s Law a reality. 💙
