Lochlan Murdoch BCyA
Lochlan, our founder, diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at four, faced challenges with a smile, tackling finger pricks, insulin injections, and more while keeping a football at his feet. Lochlan is an iWill Ambassador, Quality in Care Diabetes Award winner, Points of Light Award winner and in 2023 received the extremely prestigious British Citizen Youth Award for services to community.

Lesley Murdoch
Lesley is our current Charity Manager, co-founder and Lochlan’s mum. Coming from a health and education background she is well equipped to overseeing the running of Lochlan’s Legacy. As a T1D mum, she is determined, driven and passionate about raising awareness, reducing stigma, breaking down barriers and has a clear vision about the future of our charity.

Paul Paton
Paul Paton is a professional footballer who plays for West of Scotland Football League club Glenafton Athletic and lives with Type 1 Diabetes. Paul was our very first ambassador to join Lochlan's Legacy.
He has previously played for Queen's Park, Partick Thistle, Dundee United, St Johnstone, Plymouth Argyle, Falkirk, Dunfermline Athletic, East Kilbride and Dumbarton, and had a spell on loan to Airdrieonians.
A great role model for all T1Ds.

Dinesh Shah
Dinesh ShahPhD. Dinesh works is post-doctoral research with expertise in insulin resistance and cellular signalling. In addition to researching mechanisms of insulin resistance, he also lives with type 1 diabetes.

Jonny Paterson
Jonny Paterson is an LA-based producer and entertainment executive, the founder of JP International Productions and formerly the Head of Development and Vice President of Television at Confluential Films.
Jonny lives with type 1 diabetes and is truly exceptional. His drive to make a difference in our community is to e commended.

Jamie is a goalkeeper and lives with type 1 diabetes. Jamie is a massive supporter of the work of Lochlan's Legacy and helps provide support for football coach education.

Scott is a successful professional footballer and is currently in Northern Ireland playing with Larne. Scott is a huge ambassador for type 1 diabetes, living with t gives him a platform to show others, anything is possible!

Paul is a driving force within Lochlan's Legacy, providing information and support for young people and coaches to support them in type 1 education. Paul lives with type 1 and is a professional footballer. Paul proves everyday that T1DDOESNTSTOPME. He is currently showcasing his talent in Northern Ireland.

Holly Duffy
Holly lives with type 1 diabetes and has been at the forefront of diabetes awareness for many years. Holly leads our T1D and ME-Giving Youth A Voice group and supports volunteers at events. She is a fantastic member of our team.

Shona Shankland
Shona is our financial brains here at Lochlan’s Legacy. Shona is a Chartered Accountant and has been on Lochlan’s journey since diagnosis and before. An integral part of our team. Shona enjoys quality family time with her husband and two lovely children, Holly and Robbie.

Grant is a Type 1 Diabetic with 30+ years of lived experience. He is the founder of the Ganesha Gear Diabetic Bag of Life and is Head of Communications & Marketing at the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre

Irene is our current secretary and calming influence. Irene ensures the smooth running of Lochlan’s Legacy and draws experience and knowledge from her current professional role within recruitment.

Gemma is our current Treasurer and a huge supporter of Lochlan’s Legacy. Gemma’s professional role is a Claims Technical SME. Gemma works tirelessly volunteering and assisting coordination of our events and projects.

Dylan Kerr
Dylan Kerr is a professional football coach & former professional footballer. He has played for Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds United, Reading, Kilmarnock, Hamilton Academical & Greenock Morton.
As a coach he has won multiple league titles & cup competitions & has served as a Head coach in Africa & in Asia.
In addition, he has joined four clubs in the South African Premier Division relegation zone & kept all four clubs in the division.
